Men are different from women

Men are different from women. Yes, I've clued into this lately. You'd think that as a prostate cancer surgeon I would have known this a long time ago, and perhaps I have. But lately it's become so tangible, so palpable, as to give the distinction new meaning. You see, men, unlike women, cannot be roused to action by the mere suggestion of health. Unlike women, who put on sweat pants, don padded sneakers, and march to the cure and clog the streets of Miami, men prefer to pretend nothing is wrong. Prostate problems? No. Not here. We don't see any prostate problems. We go to the gym, we trim the fat off our bacon, we profess duty to health. But prostates? Don't even bother.
